#40to40 - Let the countdown begin 🍾🥂🎉 Today marks my official 40 to 40... a dauntingly terrifying yet exciting and fabulous feat and something I was almost ready to let slip by...

After the last few months and year that's been, it was so easy to let life get the better of me and allow the stress, hardships and negativity take over my life... but as many who know me know - I am the unofficial Queen of countdowns and celebrator of milestones both big and small 🤩😋😉 ('cos life is just too short not to, right? 🤍)... 

And so I have taken the challenge of living and loving and celebrating and commemorating my life to the lees in this new season to come 🥳🤍😉 How apt that it also happens to be the Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere, one of my favourite times of the year and the heralding of this new season in my own life too 💐☀️🦋✨🌻

So journey with me as I find the small little pleasures and big awesome things that make life just a little bit better every day! Join me and share the big, bigger and biggest things we can do to make this world a better place or at least even the small places we engage with on a day to day basis ✨🦋🌻

For now, I'm off to celebrate today with a dear friend and of course support the Bokke in true South African spirit and pride 🍾🏉  🇿🇦🎉🌞

Just because I haven't been posting doesn't mean that the countdown hasn't still been pursued 💫🦋🌞 I hope as I share on how to put things into perspective you also take some time out to realise that sharing and "living" for social media is not ideal.. Nothing is as sobering as realising that someone you've known your whole life and so intimately won't live through another sunset yet alone a sunrise or anything else... Death is sobering and something so few talk abo...

#2to40 - Two is better than one...

Two is better than one they often say, or as per the Afghan quote "two are better than one, and three than two." Countless quotes, proverbs and sayings talk about two being better than one and maybe one of my favourites is from Ecclesiastes 4 9:10 in the Bible that says "Two are better than one... for if they fall, one will lift up the other." As my countdown starts nearing completion with 2 days to go until I officially celebrate my 40th birthday, it would be remiss of me to not celebrate a very big, important and significant part of my life - my siblings ... I am blessed with not just one, but 6 siblings... how the makeup exists is not important - but I am grateful every day that I am blessed with not just the "two is better than one" scenario or three is better than two.. but 6 - which to me is wayyyyyy better than any of the aforementioned! #1 You are invited...

Many of you may have journeyed with me through my various jlogging  adventures (journal blogging for those newbies - you will realise I am a great maker-up of words, especially those ending with "ness" that I like to think I've somehow coined!) ... But here I find myself, 3 months to the big 4-0 and more excited and ME than ever before... hence the titled of this chapter of my jlogging exploits being called " This is ME!
